This is the third time of doing the Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag, I will tag the previous years below. These questions were a little harder to answer this year as so far I’ve only read 32 books, to some this may be seen as a lot but to me this is the least I’ve read in a few years.

Best Book You’ve Read So Far In 2021

If you haven’t seen my post about this book then I will link it below. I absolutely loved These Violent Nights, you may see this book in a few more answers.
Best Book of the Year
Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2020

Anarchy (Hades #2) by Tate James
I haven’t read many sequels this year but I have been making my way through the Madison Kate series and now I’m on the Hades books which is a spin off. They are so addictive and I love the characters.
New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To

Bath Haus by P.J. Vernon
I haven’t heard too much about this book, but the little I have heard has made me really excited to get my hands on it!
Most Anticipated Release For The Second Half Of The Year

Empire of the Vampire (Empire of the Vampire #1) by Jay Kristoff
I don’t know the plot of this book but it’s Jay Kristoff and the cover is stunning so I need it!
Biggest Disappointment

Through the Woods by Emily Carroll
I bought this book for myself as a birthday present as I’ve wanted it for the longest time, the art was absolutely stunning but unfortunately I just couldn’t connect with any of the stories and I was left really disappointed.
Biggest Surprise

The Soul Breaker by Sebastian Fitzek
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley, I’ve enjoyed a few books from Sebastian Fitzek but this one blew them all away. If you’re looking for a psychological thriller that’s different to anything else you’ve read before then I definitely recommend this.
Favourite New Author

Tate James
I read the Madison Kate last year and loved it so I had to follow up with the spin off series. Tate James creates addictive relationships with actual intense plot lines. I’m halfway through Club 22 and I’m just ready for my heart to be broken as always.
Newest Fictional Crush
Kol from These Violent Nights
Kol, oh Kol I did fall for him which doesn’t normally happen to me, yes he isn’t perfect but who is? I absolutely loved the slow and cautious relationship that was created between him and thorn.
Newest Favourite Character
Thorn from These Violent Nights
Thorn is a determined character who will protect the ones she loves at all costs. Even though she is stubborn and made me cry like a baby on multiple occasions due to the decisions she made.
I desperately need more from Kol and Thorn.
Book That Made You Cry

These Violent Nights by Rebecca Crunden
I told you this book would be seen throughout this tag. This is the only book that has made me cry this year, I was so invested in the characters that whenever things went bad for them I couldn’t help but cry.
Book That Made You Happy

Fake (Madison Kate #3) by Tate James
I love the Madison Kate series and her relationship with our three men. They aren’t the best people but they love her intensely and will go to great lengths to keep her out of harms way.
Favourite Book To Film Adaptation

Jurassic Park (Jurassic Park #1) by Michael Crichton
I’ve grown up with the Jurassic Park movies and only got around to reading the book this year. I really loved it and hopefully I get around to reading the second book soon.
Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year

Sapiens: a Graphic History, Volume 1 – The Birth of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari, David Vandermeulen, Daniel Casanave
I’ve read a little of this huge graphic novel and the art is stunning! I can’t wait to carry on reading.
What Book Do You Need To Read By The End Of The Year

The Demon King (Seven Realms #1) by Cinda Williams Chima
This book has been on my TBR for about 4 years now and I finally got my hands on a copy a few months ago so fingers crossed I will get to it soon.
Skyward (Skyward #1) by Brandon Sanderson
I’ve had this on my bookcase for ages and I know that I’m going to love it but I just don’t seem to be picking it up.
The Testaments (The Handmaid’s Tale #2) by Margaret Atwood
Oops The Testaments was the answer to this question last year and I still haven’t read it.

See you guys in the next one…

Oh my gosh, thank you :’)
