Book Review

So today I’m reviewing Rattle by Fiona Cummins which has been on my bookcase for at least two years so I’m excited to have finally read this…

A serial killer to chill your bones
A psychopath more frightening than Hannibal Lecter.
He has planned well. He leads two lives. In one he’s just like anyone else. But in the other he is the caretaker of his family’s macabre museum.
Now the time has come to add to his collection. He is ready to feed his obsession, and he is on the hunt.
Jakey Frith and Clara Foyle have something in common. They have what he needs.
What begins is a terrifying cat-and-mouse game between the sinister collector, Jakey’s father and Etta Fitzroy, a troubled detective investigating a spate of abductions.
Set in London’s Blackheath, Rattle by Fiona Cummins explores the seam of darkness that runs through us all; the struggle between light and shadow, redemption and revenge.
It is a glimpse into the mind of a sinister psychopath. And it’s also a story about not giving up hope when it seems that all hope is already lost.

Why haven’t I read this book sooner?!
I can’t remember the last time that I read a book that was so intense that I was clenching my jaw while listening to it

As it’s a thriller I didn’t read the synopsis so I didn’t know that children are involved, this is what I think made this book even more uncomfortable to listen too. My heart was breaking not only for the kidnapped children but their parents aswell.

There’s such an interesting concept to our serial killer which I’ve seen compared to Hannibal Lector and I have to agree, this book is really well done.

This is not a book that you can read to relax, I was so damn tense and stressed the whole time but I couldn’t stop myself from listening to it. I do recommend it to those who enjoy intense thrillers about serial killers. I’m hoping to listen to book two next month.

See you in the next one…
