Thank you to Anne Cater for inviting me join the blog tour for the first in the Dr Bloom series.
I’m really excited to share this with you so let’s get started…

Four strangers are missing. Left at their last-known locations are birthday cards that read:
The police aren’t worried – it’s just a game. But the families are frantic. As psychologist and private detective Dr Augusta Bloom delves into the lives of the missing people, she finds something that binds them all.
And that something makes them very dangerous indeed.
As more disappearances are reported and new birthday cards uncovered, Dr Bloom races to unravel the mystery and find the missing people.
But what if, this time, they are the ones she should fear?

This is a book that is unlike any that I’ve read before! Augusta Bloom is a psychologist who often works alongside the police. I couldn’t help but respect her and enjoy her friendship with fellow business partner Marcus Jameson. The plot to this is so unique, the people who are missing who we usually associate with being vulnerable are actually the dangerous ones! However there is a big mystery as to why they are being given a Happy 1st Birthday card on the day that they disappear which coincidentally is actually their birthday. Are they being targeted or recruited?

As you can see on the cover it is seen as being similar writing style to M. J. Arlidge and if you have been following my blog for a while you will probably know that I absolutely love his Helen Grace series so I knew that I would be in for a treat with this book! And oh boy did it deliver, the authors writing made this book so fast paced and addictive. The twists and turns that we take are really well executed and definitely added to the thrill of the chase.

This book will be perfect for those who enjoy thrillers which take you along for the ride!
I’m so excited that Dr Bloom will be returning in the next book in 2020!

So who is Leona Deakin?

Leona draws inspiration for her writing from her own experiences having started her career as a psychologist with the West Yorkshire Police and her successful work in psychology since. She is now an occupational Psychologist and lives with her family in Leeds. This is her debut thriller.
