So, it won’t come as a surprise to you all that my preferred genre is Crime Thrillers. Before I started my blog that was only genre that I really read, however since becoming heavily involved within the book community my eyes have been opened to the wide variety of genres, and who knew you didn’t have to be a teenager to enjoy YA? I didn’t this time last year.
If you have been following the blog for a long time you may have noticed that Fantasy, Sci-Fi & YA books have been creeping into my reviews. So I wanted to make a post to show how much of my reading has been influenced by you guys!
Let’s get started…

Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (4.5*)
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (5*)
Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns #1) by Kendare Blake (4.5*)

Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle #1) by Jay Kristoff (5*)

Every Heart A Doorway (Wayward Children #1) by Seanan McGuire (4*)
Down Among The Sticks and Bones (Wayward Children #2) by Seanan McGuire (4.5)
Beneath The Sugar Sky (Wayward Children #3) by Seanan McGuire (3*)

I’m so grateful to everyone who blogs, reviews and talks about books, I have had such an amazing 6/7 months of exploring new worlds and I can’t wait to carry on.
What books have you read because of the book community?
See you in the next one…

I have read so many books that I wouldn’t have otherwise if not for bloggers. I have added so many books and authors to my lists over the last couple of years it is mind boggling.

Do you find that you have certain bloggers that you get the most recommendations from? I’m still trying to see who I this same tastes as.

Yes, there are quite a few that have very similar taste and I trust their rating and comments. It took awhile to get there. I read several different genres, so there are lots of options for me.

I am now reading Taylor Jenkins Reid’s “Daisy Jones and the Six” and OH MY! I just KNOW I’m going to have to go back and read Seven Husbands now…

I would absolutely recommend the audiobook for the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo if you can, I became so absorbed that I cried like a baby at the end!
I’m not sure if Daisy Jones and the Six will be my cup of tea, are you reading it physically?

Yes, I bought the hardcover when Book Depository had it on sale. But author Greer Macallister listened to the audio book and raved about it. I can understand why, because it is mostly people speaking. But… I’m not really into audiobooks to be truthful. I can’t really find time to listen to them. I’ve only listened to three, and that was only when I had surgery on my eyelids and couldn’t read.

I definitely don’t think audio is for everyone, but I commute a lot and walk the dog so I enjoy being able to listen to books 🙂

Yeah, I get that. But I have little to no commuting to do and no dogs to walk…

I totally agree with you. I get soooo many good recs from other bloggers. Which is nice because the people in my life either don’t read or do read and can’t say anything more than, “OMG, I loved it!” And I’m not knocking that but WHY WAS IT SO AMAZING? LOL

I completely agree with you! The majority of people around me don’t read at all. At least we can explain to others why we love them 🙂

I guess this is so true for most of us… we all influence each other to try out books outside our comfort zones and discover our love for them !!!!
I totally read the Nevernight chronicles due to the community too 😊😊😊

It’s fab isn’t it! I don’t think I would have even considered trying all these new genres otherwise.
