So I was sitting down trying to think of recommendations to post for you and then *lightbulb* I really miss Nordic Noir, I haven’t been ready many books in this genre since exploring fantasy / Sci-fi and Ya. I know that not many people are fans of translated fiction, however it’s one of my favourite genres and I think it’s definitely underrated!
Here are some that I love…

Blood on Snow Series by Jo Nesbo

I decided to read this duology as I have heard loads of great things about Jo Nesbo but the Harry Hole series has so many books that being honest I’m a little intimidated to start it.
I definitely recommend starting here.

Holger Munch & Mia Kruger Series by Samuel Bjørk

If you want to explore Nordic Noir but you don’t know if it’s for you then I definitely recommend checking this series out, it’s easy to read and the cases are always so interesting!
I love our main duo, they are completely opposite personalities but it really works!

Joona Linna Series by Lars Kepler

Let’s be honest this is my most talked about series on my blog! I can’t recommend this enough, just please read it!!!

Victoria Bergmans svaghet #1-3 by Erik Axl Sund

This may seem a little confusing as I’ve only put the one book here, however, when it was translated to English they put the trilogy into one book which does make it about 800 pages long but it really is worth it.
Now a quick note, I’d say that this is for more experienced readers of the genre as it definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted! It can be pretty graphic and if I remember correctly there are mentions of child abuse.

Books I own but not read yet

Blood Song (Emily Roy & Alexis Castells #3) by Johana Gustawsson
The Chestnut Man by Soren Sveistrup
The Ice Beneath Her (Flickorna och mörkret #1) by Camilla Grebe
The Ice Princess (Fjällbacka #1) by Camilla Lackberg
Snowblind (Dark Iceland #1) by Ragnar Jonasson

I hope you enjoyed these recommendations and If you have any for me then please leave them in the comments below, I love finding new ones!
See you in the next one,

I read The Owl Always Hunts at Night for a book club and loved it. Need to go read the first in that series to find out what was up with Mia. Great recs, thank you!

Awesome, thanks! I will definitely have to hunt down the others because I was so confused in regards to Mia and her relationship with Holger.

I love Jo Nesbo (and you really do have to try the Harry Hole series) but am less keen on Lars Kepler. I would like to read most of the books on your ‘Books I own but not read yet’ list. I hope you get to read them and write a review 🙂

Last Kepler definitely isn’t to everyone’s taste. I hope I get to them soon aswell!

I enjoyed Nesbo’s Harry Hole series, though my favorite is The Son, where Harry Hole’s presence is nearly non-existent 😉 Haven’t read Kepler, though – thanks for the recommendation 🙂
