I’m loving the reading rush so far, I’ve read 700 pages, finished two books and earned 4 badges!
Let’s break it down day by day…
Day 1 – Monday
I started with Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde as this was only 70 pages and I will able to finish it within 2 sittings. I was a little disappointed in this book, however I think it’s because this is such a classic and I’m not used to the writing style. It was really interesting to read the original story of Jekyll and Hyde, I just wish there had been a little explanation as to why it happened. I rated this 3*.
This earned me the badge of read a book with over five words in the title.
I then started to read Part of your world by Liz Braswell, I read 90 pages of this before heading to bed.
Once in bed I started to read Manipulated Lives by H. A. Leuschel, as this is the book I’m reading for the challenge of reading a book in the same spot the entire time. I managed 50 pages, this is a collection of stories true to life of those who have been manipulated. It probably wasn’t the best day to start this as this first story hit a raw nerve.
In total I read 210 pages today.
Day 2 – Tuesday
We rehomed a dog! So I didn’t get as much reading done as I would have liked but Noah has now found himself a best friend in Holly our 1 year old beagle.
I did manage to read another 200 pages of Part of your world (in between chasing her around the back garden multiple times with my bookmark and book sleeve).
In total I read 210 pages again today.
Day 3 – Wednesday
I definitely made more progress today, I finished my second book of the week, Part of Your World. This earned me the badge of read a book with purple on the cover, I gave it 3.5* I had big expectations that it just didn’t meet.
After this I started Misery by Stephen King, I’m only 60 pages in and I’m really loving it! I can’t wait to carry on with it tomorrow. This is for the challenge of reading a book that you meant to read last year.
I also read another 20 pages of Manipulated Lives in bed.
I managed to read 280 pages today.
I’m so excited for the rest of the week, how are you doing?
See you in the next one…
