Today is a super exciting post!! I’ve finally given into FOMO and bought a book subscription box.
I decided to go with the Book Box Club as I’m super new to the YA genre I wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate the fandom goodies in boxes such as Owlcrate and the Fairyloot boxes.
I have recently started reading YA fantasy books, I’ve finish Nevernight and started Godsgrave, also halfway through The Assassins Blade as I have all the eBooks on my library app so I’m giving them a go!
Anyway getting back to the book box! Here is my first ever video!! I never thought that I would actually do this, however, sometimes you just need to be brave for a little while and that’s exactly what I did.
Here is my video, I would love for you to give it a watch and a thumbs up if you enjoy it. Also it is my first video so I would love some constructive criticism (please don’t throw abuse at me).
Let’s see what all the fuss is about…

I love the little touch of an envelope with my name handwritten, these small additions really create a much more personal experience.
Forbidden Forest Mug with artwork My Moledro Craft Co: “Swig your butter beer from the enamel mug and be transported to the home of Hogwarts most magical creatures.”
I love love love this! As we speak I’m actually having a brew in this and it’s just stunning.
Mamo’s Herbal Hand Cream by Pretty Little Treats: “Inspired by Mamo from Perfectly Preventable Deaths (AKA the wise witch of the woods of Ballyfrann) this soothing citrusy balm will heal the hands of all budding sourcerers.” In the video I say it’s floral, it’s not at all it’s a stunning citrus flavour.

Sabrina Coaster with artwork by Beatrice Joy Velasco: “Whether you consider yourself distinctly mortal or a bonafide member of the witches’ council like Sabrina Spellman, everyone needs a place to rest their brew.”
Caramel Marshmallows by Ananda Foods: “Even witches need sugary snacks! Toast these vegan marshmallows over your bubbling cauldron for a yummy reading treat.” I can’t wait to top my mocha with these later in my new mug!!
Bonus Book: Tangleweed and Brine by Deirdre Sullivan and Illustrated by Karen Vaughan: From the wicked witch in her gingerbread house to Rumpelstiltskin and Cinderella, this gorgeous illustrated collection of fairy-tales re-imagined features age-old stories with dark new twists.
I’m so in love with this book! The illustrations are beautiful (I show quite a few of them in the video) I can’t wait to start reading this.

Featured Book: Perfectly Preventable Deaths by Deirdre Sullivan: “When twin sisters Madeline and Catlin move to a castle in Ballyfrann, they soon realise that this strange Irish town is cloaked in dark secrets: from ancient rituals and witchy neighbours to classic bad boys and missing girls. As Madeline struggles with newfound magical visions and Catlin becomes enthralled by roman, the sisters have no idea how dangerous their new home will become…”
I’ve never read a book with witchy vibes like this. I’m looking forward to giving this a go, I love that we have a signed bookplate aswell!
My faves definitely have to be the Forbidden Forrest mug as well as Tangleweed and Brine, I’m actually more excited about this bonus book than the featured one. I love retelling’s, especially dark ones. The illustrations are stunning and it just gives me serious nostalgic vibes, especially from when I used to read Hans Christian Anderson fairy-tales.
Overall, I absolutely loved my first experience of the Book Box Club. Next months theme is I Love UK YA, again it includes 2 books (one is a contemporary psychological thriller) as I’m still a newbie to the YA genre I think I’m definitely gonna get this box and expand my reading genre
Again, please give my video a watch and let me know what you think!
See you in the next one…

Awesome!!! I had Owlcrate for three months and it was so exciting and I find it’s worth the money.

Thanks for the post! I was just patting myself on the back for suspending two of my accounts and now I might splurge on this one 🙂 I’ll tell myself just for a couple of months of course but I am very interested in those books!
